Bessemer City NC– Investigators found the body of 3-year-old Jordyn Dumont last month near her Gaston County home and charged her mother’s boyfriend with killing her.A preliminary autopsy report Thursday revealed that the toddler died from blunt force trauma.
Police said Billy McCullen called 911 to report Jordyn missing. Police and volunteers searched for the toddler, and her body was discovered soon after in the woods.
Gaston County police said Thursday that they responded to 16 calls for service at the home where Jordyn lived with her mother, Jaylene Dumont, and McCullen. Only one of those calls was directly linked to the welfare of Jordan and her younger sister. William “Billy” McCullen has been arrested and charged with first degree murder in Jordyn’s death.
He’s being held in the Gaston County Jail with no bail. Gaston County DSS is being blamed by the girl’s biological father Josh Kinnett, who lives out of state. He called them to ask about a welfare check on Jordyn when he found out her mother was being physically abused by McCullen. DSS went to check on the children and found nothing wrong and closed the case. The father has now hired an attorney.
