BAYSIDE, Queens (PIX11) — A Queens man who was arrested for assaulting his 4-month-old son may soon face an upgraded criminal charge after the child died on Christmas Eve.

Police responded to 205-40 Brian Crescent around 8:09 p.m. on Dec. 20 where a baby was reported to have trouble breathing and became unconscious.

The Daily News reports the baby was in the care of his father, Jagsheer Singh, 28, while his wife, Dr. Reena Malhotra, was at work that day.

The baby, Nevin Janduher, appeared to be find the next morning as Singh gave him a bath. It was reported that during this time, the baby fell of the changing table — a four-foot fall.

A short time later, Singh noticed the baby was unresponsive and called 911.

The baby was transported to Flushing Hospital in critical condition.

On Christmas Eve, the baby died from severe head injuries.
