Sumter, South Carolina-
Police have arrested a woman and charged her in the death of her 3-month-old son. media sources reported the infant was found unresponsive in his home on Sunday and died Monday afternoon in a Columbia hospital.
Sumter Police Chief, Patty Patterson said 20-year-old Rayshana Harvin of Sumter is charged with homicide by child abuse.
Patterson says the baby boy died after his skull was fractured
Rayshana Harvin originally was charged with illegal conduct toward a child but the charge was upgraded Monday after the boy died. She is being held in the Sumter-Lee regional jail. Her two other children, a 2-year-old and 3-year-old, are now in custody of the Department of Social Services.
